Egypt is known for its pyramids, the Nile, and the desert. At the same time, Egypt is also recognized as the birthplace of Christianity.
Throughout the centuries, the Christian community has become a minority. Egypt is predominantly an Islamic country. Local churches sometimes face opposition, exclusion, and discrimination. Yet, they have the desire to manifest God's love in their surroundings and more broadly in Egypt.
Our mission in Egypt
As mentioned, this poses a challenge for a small minority in a predominantly Islamic country. The priority in our work is to strengthen twelve local congregations, with a focus on diaconal and missionary work, as well as the training of young and/or future pastors. How beautiful it is to see such flourishing congregations emerge along the Nile, enabling others to come into contact with the Gospel.
Our partners
Due to security reasons, we cannot mention here which partners we work with in Egypt.
